KEY TAKEAWAYS
- One light module supports both trimmed and trimless mounting options.
- Ø55, Ø75 and Ø100 mm sizes maintain one consistent design language.
- Fixed and adjustable modules cover different lighting tasks within one family.
- The adjustable version uses synchronized shielding to help reduce unwanted light leakage.
- Interchangeable optical accessories provide additional project flexibility.
01Why FLEXI was developed
Architectural lighting projects rarely require only one type of downlight. A retail store may need stable general lighting in one area and directional accent lighting in another. A hotel may require low-glare lighting in circulation zones while using adjustable lighting around artwork, reception desks or feature surfaces.
The challenge is that different lighting tasks often lead to different luminaires, different ceiling appearances and more complicated specification.
FLEXI was developed around a different idea: allow several lighting functions and installation conditions to share one consistent product language. Instead of treating every requirement as a separate fixture family, FLEXIuses a modular platform that can adapt across different areas of the same project.
02One module. Two mounting options.
One of FLEXI’s core design ideas is simple: change the frame, keep the light.
Within each size, the same lighting module works with both trimmed and trimless mounting frames. The trimmed version provides practical ceiling installation, while the trimless version creates a cleaner and more seamless architectural finish.
The value is not simply having two installation styles. Designers can respond to different ceiling conditions without changing the core optical system or introducing a completely different product language.
Specification Checklist

01 One Module. Two Mounting Options.
The same FLEXI light module works with trimmed and trimless frames, giving designers two ceiling expressions without changing the optical platform.

02 Three Sizes. One Family.
Ø55, Ø75 and Ø100 mm cut-out sizes allow FLEXI to adapt to different project scales while maintaining one consistent design language.

03 Fixed & Adjustable Modules
Fixed modules support stable general lighting, while adjustable modules provide directional flexibility within the same product family.

04 Shielding That Moves With the Light
The synchronized shielding plate follows the adjustable module to help reduce unwanted light leakage as the beam direction changes.
03Three sizes. One family.
FLEXI is available in Ø55 mm, Ø75 mm and Ø100 mm cut-out sizes.
Different areas within one project may require different output levels, ceiling proportions and fixture scales. FLEXI allows designers to move between smaller and larger sizes while keeping the same visual identity across the ceiling.
This creates greater freedom when one project includes compact rooms, larger public spaces and different lighting requirements, while still maintaining a consistent architectural language.
04Fixed and adjustable modules for different lighting tasks
FLEXI supports both fixed and adjustable lighting modules within the same family.
The fixed version is designed for stable general lighting and spaces where visual comfort and a clean ceiling appearance are the priority.
The adjustable version provides directional flexibility for merchandise, displays, artwork and architectural features. Combined with adjustable tilt and 350° rotation, it gives designers greater freedom to position the beam where it is needed.
The important point is that the lighting function can change without forcing the ceiling design to change with it.
FLEXI Modular Platform Overview
| Design Element | FLEXI Configuration | Project Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Mounting | Trimmed / Trimless | Adapts to different ceiling finishes while keeping the same light module |
| Size | Ø55 / Ø75 / Ø100 mm | Covers different room scales and lighting output requirements within one family |
| Lighting Function | Fixed / Adjustable | Supports both general and directional lighting while maintaining a consistent ceiling language |
05Synchronized shielding and optical flexibility
Adjustable downlights introduce an additional challenge. When the light engine is tilted, part of the opening can become more exposed. If the internal shielding remains fixed, unwanted side light leakage may become more visible.
In the FLEXI adjustable version, the shielding plate moves together with the lighting module. As the beam direction changes, the shield follows the module, helping cover the exposed opening and maintain cleaner light control.
FLEXI can also be combined with optical accessories including protective glass, linear spread lens, textured glass and honeycomb louver, allowing the same platform to respond to different visual and optical requirements.
The idea behind FLEXI is straightforward: different lighting tasks should not require completely different design languages. One modular family can adapt to different ceiling conditions, fixture sizes and lighting functions while maintaining a consistent architectural appearance.
